Hi All -
You may have been wondering where I have been. Sorry to leave you hanging. I have been sooooo busy. With the holiday and my sons baseball games (6 this week) and a new venture I started I haven't been able to keep up. I am sooooo sorry!
A New venture you say... oh yes. Some of you know I had put my name in on a waiting list for a booth at the new antique mall (Nellie & Nicos) in Shawnee, KS. Well last week on our way out of town they called and they wanted me to move in immediately. Well had a been garage saling and had found a few things, but NOTHING was ready. I had at least 20 things I needed to paint. YIKES!!!! I should mention that this too was the last week of school and had field day to go to and many other last week events at school + all these Baseball games, the holiday, my nieces graduation, my grandmother moving, and It has been 80 to 90 degrees here, and, and, and. How the H.E. double hockey sticks was I going to get this done.
Well after 4 straight days of painting, priming, sanding, we (me and my two not so happy helpers- hubby and son) completed a sideboard & hutch, end tabe, mirror, jewelry box, 4 shelves, 2 pegboards, 3 wall baskets, 2 sconces, chandelier, 2 display cases, spoon wrack, recipe box, candle sticks, dish, and I am sure I am leaving out something , oh and the booth walls. My hands and arms have never hurt so bad and I have had to loose some weight from all the sweating. (wishful thinking) I think my paint clothes could stand up on their own.
We got moved in on Wednesday. The booth is not full yet. still have more to finish this weekend, but It is looking pretty good. We had lots of comments. Everyone seemed to like the Pink hutch and side board. I wish I had pictures to show you, but I broke my phone while moving in and that is what I took all my before and afters with. Hopefully Dan can get them off the sd card this weekend and I can show you then.
If you are local, you can visit my booth at Nellie & Nicos. I am in the second to last row towards the back if you enter the store from the right and move to the left. There are over 70 new booths now. The mall is slated to be the largest antique mall in the state of Kansas. It is a must see.
Nellie & Nicos
Hope to see you there real soon -

Wow it is such a great feeling to be appreciated. I leave post here a few times a week and hardly ever even know if anyone is looking at them. So when I got this great gift from Julie DiMatteo (The Paper Pixie) I was so honored. She has given me the Cherry on Top Award for my blog! Wow was I surprised and flattered - thank you sooooooo much, Julie!!! She has a great blog full of beautiful creations - please be sure to stop by her blog to say hello.
Now, with receiving this awesome award, I have the opportunity to tell you 3 things about myself and pass the award onto 5 other talented bloggers - so many to choose from!
First, about me...
1. I love Crafting!!! Could you guess? It is a huge part of my life.I come from a long line of crafty women. I grew up watching my mom sew beautiful things, arrange flowers, decorate, bake and cook. She was more than a sewer she was a tailor. She made one of my homecoming dresses, blazers, most of the curtains in our home. My grandmother made my cloths when I was little and made beautiful quilts by hand and she was a great cook too. My aunts are crafty to. My aunt Debbie made me dolls and my aunt Lynn made me pillows with smocking on them. My great grandmother crocheted. even my cousin crafts. It is in my blood.
2. I have a real problem with sugar. I LOVE it. Almost as much as I LOVE crafting. It is an addiction. Cookies, cakes, chocolates alllll day, I wish! Eat dessert first is my motto. Hee, hee! surprisingly enough I don't really like hard candies that much. ha! If you cut me I would bleed corn syrup...hungry anyone? yuck. This might be why I am FAT.
3. I HATE to clean. I keep things pretty organized. Like my husband says I have baskets for my baskets, but I really don't like cleaning. I think it has to do with my mom's obsession with it when I was growing up. It had to be done just so and if it wasn't I would have to go back and do it until it was done the way she wanted it. YUCK! I hated it. Still do. I do clean, I just can't stand doing it. Don't wear white gloves to my house. ha!
Now to pass this award onto 5 wonderful blogs that I love to visit:
1. Diana Foster - The Studio 56
2. Krystal - Krystals Cards and More
3. Tina - My Therapy, My Creations
4. Veronica - Shabby Chic Crafts
5. Amanda - Stampin in Style
Stop by and give them some love!
I hope you have a Bloomin' great day -

To hit one of my New Years resolutions head on, I am bringing you the first of many to come Monday post. I am in hopes that my Monday's Bloom will ward off your Monday Blues.
Last week I was able to play with some of our new products and made some Valentines cards. The first one made was the one above. I am loving this stamp set, "Love You Much". Not sure if you can tell from this picture, but I variegated the coloring of the letters. this is one of my favorite techniques.I colored the bottom 3rd of the letters with a Melon Mambo marker, the 2nd 3rd of the letters with a Pretty in Pink marker, and left the top of the letters uncolored. Then I went over them with Stickles glitter glue. So much fun! Hee-Hee!
The ruffle at the bottom of the page was leftover trim form a a lap shape i just covered.
The papers and Felt flowers are from Stampin' Ups new Occasions Mini Catalog. I am lovin' these felt flowers and you get so many in the package.
You can also see the new scallop edge punch from the Sale-a-bration catalog above the ruffle. This is a really cool punch. It is one of Stampin' Ups new punch styles. They collapse for easier storage. Very excited about these punches. (And with a $50.00 purchase you can get one for FREE) AWESOME!!!
Here is another card I made using the "Love You Much" stamp set. This time I used one of the Stampin' Up Designer buttons, the new Tag punch and "Tiny Tags" stamp set.
Can you tell I am lovin' the Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink colors for Valentines.
Here is one more for today:
I used the same stamp set + the new "I {heart} Hearts" set and the "Well Script" set. I pop-doted the hugs and kisses stamped piece up to create the closure and folded the card to make a pocket to hold a gift card or candy inside.
the textured heart was made with Stampin’ Up! NEW Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits™ Die.
I hope these cards put a smile on your face and took you away form the Monday Blues for a while.
If you are local, don't forget to sign up for the January 30 STAMP CAMP.
Happy Monday-

1. To make this Blog more useful for you. (please send me comments on what you would like to see here & what would be more useful to you)
2. To make a work schedule and stick to it. Working from home is harder than if sounds. No one really seems to understand you actually need to work and I tend to be one of them, ha! I have a hard time saying "NO" and even worse I tend to volunteer to do to much. I just like helping out. ugh! I need a work week/schedule so I can get the things I want/need to do for my Business and what I want to accomplish with it done.
3. To U-Tub. I want to have weekly training/tips for you guys. I am a VERY visual person and learn best when being shown how to do something. So I want to do mini classes and such on U-Tub for those of you who are like me. ; )
4. Ultimately to Grow my business- Got any ideas? any help you can give me would be great. : )
5. To Blog at least twice a week.
6. To Paint the house & landscape the front.
7. Organize the playroom, so that Logan will actually play in it.
8. Finish my sewing projects.
9. Start scrapbooking again and actually finish an album.
10. To exercise- Isn't this the typical resolution? I need
to lose weight (don't we all), but really I want to exercise to be
healthier and happier and to be more active with my son.
I guess that is the real motivator right now. My son is 8 and has a
bit of a tummy, a couple of kids at school have called my fat and it
has hurt his feelings. I was not a fat child, quite the opposite, they
called me "Olive Oyl". Though Olive Oyl wasn't very nice, I think being
called "Fat" at 8, would be much worse. I am an adult and it isn't going to
bother me that much when someone calls me fat...I am fat and I know I
need to loose weight. But when I over hear Logan telling my husband how
he felt about himself, my heart just split. I couldn't believe how much
that hurt.
My husband was heavier as a child and has always struggled with his weight, so he knew just what to say to him and I was very proud of how he handled it.
This is going to be hard, but I have to make changes for myself and my family, so Logan doesn't have to go through a lifetime of being called FAT. He is a wonderful child, fun loving, athletic, and bright ... I don't want that to change.
So I talked a friend into helping me out and I started my exercise program this week. Pray for me : )
