“Painting with Embossing Powders”

In my experience technique classes can be very overwhelming. You learn all kinds of new techniques and by the time you get home you have forgotten half of what you learned. With this in mind I have developed a new techniques class. I will demonstrate different application for one technique and you will create 3 to 4 projects using this one technique. This way you will become familiar and comfortable with the technique and be able to use it in the future.

SIGN UP: all you need to do to sign up is email me with your full name, phone number, home address and email address. Put “STAMP CAMP” in the subject line. As soon as I sign you up I will send you a confirmation email.

COST: $10.00 (due at the class)

SUPPLIES: Most supplies will be provided, but if you don’t like to share, you may want to bring your own adhesive and scissors. If you have it: please bring your embossing gun.

*CANCELLATIONS*: must be made 2 weeks prior to the class date, to ensure that the correct supplies are purchased for the class. If you are not able to give 2 weeks’ notice, you will still owe the $10.00 and you will receive a Camp Kit with all the pieces you will need to make the projects form the camp. You will need to pick the kit up within one week of the camp or it will be shipped to you with additional cost due.    

 

Color Challenge

Hi All-

It is always surprising to me that with just a little change, something can feel so different. Just like the way someone says "hello", it can mean so many different things. "Hi, I am happy and glad to see you" or "Hi, what are you doing here?" Like the tone of our voice, color can change the meaning/feeling of a card.

I challenged myself to design a card and then totally change the card by just changing the color.   

I started with this wedding card. I tried to make it very elegant and wanted to use colors I had not seen together. This is Stampin' Up's So Saffron, Natural ivory and Shara Sand.

Second, I took the design of the wedding card and tried to created a cheery birthday card. With bright colors in different patterns, I created a completely different "feel" to this card.

TOOLS: big shot, oval punch, emboss and flower burst embosslit, eyelet border punch,

OTHER:red rhinestone

Monday's Bloom #11

The School year is quickly coming to an end. I, like most mom's, have mixed feelings about this. Soon Logan will be home all day long. To cut down on the mundane-ness of this, I have signed him up for Golf lessons, Golf league, basketball and football camp, gotten our Pool passes, I will be watching one of his fiends every Monday and he is playing baseball and having practice once a week. Well...this should keep him busy AND me. yikes! I certainly like the idea of him being home and having lazy summer days, but I will miss my quite days alone too. I guess it is only for a couple of months, so I can suck it up, right. hee-hee!

  

With school coming to an end, I have been thinking about what to get Logan's teacher for her end of the year teachers gift.

In the NEW Summer Mini catalog we have a great new stamp set called First Day. It is super cut and I used it to make this little goody bag.

Very Thankful

In just a couple of months our NEW catalog & idea book will be coming out  and with this our current one will be no more. Every year Stampin' Up has a designated stamp set with which proceeds of the set are donated to the Ronald McDonald house. In this years catalog the stamp set is the "Very Thankful" set. Monday's Bloom #10

Hi all - 

It's me again and it is Monday again. : ) Did you have a good weekend?

Saturday evening we had Stamp Camp in my basement. What fun we had! We made 6 Masculine cards for all the men in our familys. I can't wait to give mine to my "MEN" on Fathers day.

It was a good weekend. 

On to the Monday's Bloom. So I purchased the the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set from Stampin' Up a while back and I just got the chance to play with it. I wanted to see what all i could do with it. Here are my results:

1.Embossing on solid colored cardstock. (this is my favorite one)

Monday's Bloom #9

Good morning All -

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. It ended up being pretty good weather for our neighborhood garage sale. We did well and I found some bargains myself...like a desk for Logan for $5.00. WOW!

I can't believe it is May already. This school year will be coming to an end very quickly. I am going to have to come up with some end of the year teacher gifts pretty soon. I am sure some of you are also thinking about this and about graduation gifts too. YIKES!

 

The NEW Summer Mini Catalog has some really cute school and graduations stamp sets in them. They are called First Day & Go, Graduate. They both come in wood or clear mount.

Here are some cards I created using them.

This "A+ grad card" will be one of the featured cards at the May 15th Stamp Camp.

When stamping the hat, I turned the stamp counter clockwise a 1/4 of the way around. This makes it appear like the hat is being tossed into the air.I embossed the Button on the top of the hat with silver embossing powder to give it texture, I also cut out and pop-dotted a few of the hat to give dept to the image.    

 

"Congrats Grad Card" 

STAMPS:go graduate, dotted lines
INKS:basic black, real red, brilliant blue
CARDSTOCK:night of navy, whisper white, crushed curry, cherry cobbler
TOOLS: markers, circle punch, tab punch, star punch, spiral punch, corner rounder
OTHER: staples

TIPS: 1. cut a 4 1/4" x 11 piece of the night of navy cardstock. fold it in half. 2. cut a 5 1/4" x 3" piece of the crushed curry cardstock. use the border punch to make the spiral edge. staple this piece on 3 sides of the front of the card to create a pocket. 3. stamp the text and the feet images on white card stock and adhere on top of the pocket. 4. stamp the owl, color him in and punch him out of the white cardstock. punch a slightly larger red circle and adhere the two circles together and then to the front of the card. 5. cit a 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" piece of white cardstock to make the insert with. use red ink to stamp the dotted lines and stamp congratulations at the top of the card.Round the corners. Use the tab punch and the star punch to create the tab at the top of the insert and staple it on.    

PS. this pocket would be a great place to put a gift card or right the grad a letter.
