Wow ! What a surprise!

Wow it is such a great feeling to be appreciated. I leave post here a few times a week and hardly ever even know if anyone is looking at them. So when I got this great gift from Julie DiMatteo (The Paper Pixie) I was so honored. She has given me the Cherry on Top Award for my blog!  Wow was I surprised and flattered - thank you sooooooo much, Julie!!!  She has a great blog full of beautiful creations - please be sure to stop by her blog to say hello.

Now, with receiving this awesome award, I have the opportunity to tell you 3 things about myself and pass the award onto 5 other talented bloggers - so many to choose from!

First, about me...

1. I love Crafting!!! Could you guess? It is a huge part of my life.I come from a long line of crafty women. I grew up watching my mom sew beautiful things, arrange flowers, decorate, bake and cook. She was more than a sewer she was a tailor. She made one of my homecoming dresses, blazers, most of the curtains in our home. My grandmother made my cloths when I was little and made beautiful quilts by hand and she was a great cook too. My aunts are crafty to. My aunt Debbie made me dolls and my aunt Lynn made me pillows with smocking on them.  My great grandmother crocheted. even my cousin crafts. It is in my blood.    

2. I have a real problem with sugar. I LOVE it. Almost as much as I LOVE crafting. It is an addiction. Cookies, cakes, chocolates alllll day, I wish! Eat dessert first is my motto. Hee, hee! surprisingly enough I don't really like hard candies that much. ha! If you cut me I would bleed corn syrup...hungry anyone? yuck. This might be why I am FAT.   

3. I HATE to clean. I keep things pretty organized. Like my husband says I have baskets for my baskets, but I really don't like cleaning. I think it has to do with my mom's obsession with it when I was growing up. It had to be done just so and if it wasn't I would have to go back and do it until it was done the way she wanted it. YUCK! I hated it. Still do. I do clean, I just can't stand doing it. Don't wear white gloves to my house. ha!

Monday's Bloom #22

  
Hi All -

Today I want to share I card I made for my husband. The 6th was our 12 anniversary. I loved making this card. I tried out several different techniques.

First I made a stencil out of chipboard using the Tulipe die from Stampin' Up! (the die is on clearance)

I inked a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with Not Quite Navy ink and a sponge, creating the tulipe shape. Leaving the die in place I spritz the image with some of the Log Cabin Smooch spritz and then the Vanilla Shimmer spritz. I used a Heat Gun to to set the colors.

 I used the tag corner punch on the corners and inked the edges with a sponge and Whisper White craft ink, then heat set it so it would not smear. I then stamped the entire piece with River Rock ink and an old French Scripted background stamp from SU. Then used the large label stamp from the Notably Ornate stamp set and Early Espresso ink pad. 

The heart was punched out with the Large heart punch and the scallop heart die embossing folder. The large oval punch was used to punch out the take not stamped image out of confetti cardstock.

I used the same tied died effect on the ribbon as I did on the My Favorites Post a couple of weeks ago.

It Is A Girl

It has been a while sence I have had to have a baby gift for someone. My Friend Beth is due in March or April. She just had her shower a couple of weeks ago and this is what I came up with.

 
I filled a bucket with a picture frame, a door hanger and a couple of hangers I altered.

I made a tag to hand on the Bucket and a card.

Above is the inside of the card.

These are the hangers I altered. They are wooden hangers I got at Target. I didn't even have to paint them because they where already painted pink. First tore off the little wooden sea shell that was glued on them. I covered the fronts and backs with a small polka-dot pattern paper. next I created these chipboard flowers and hot glued them on. Easy peasy.

Monday's Bloom #21

Good morning and Happy Valentines Day!

I hope you are all having a very good day filled with Love letters, candy and bright red roses. What are your plans for Vday? I am the room mom for my sons classroom, so I will be spending the afternoon at the school supervising the Valentines Day Party. Tonight I will be giving the boys there goodies. Can't wait to see what they think.

Today I want to share what I made for my mom for Valentines. Hope you like it. 

It is a  Jar filled with creamy Valentines candies. The candies are in the shapes of hearts, angles & lips. So cute and yummy. I created this with items from Stampin' Up!s New Occasions mini Catalog.

Logan's Valentines

Hi All -

Here is what I finally settled on for Logan's valentines this year. 

I had to make 24 of them.

 
Logan will have to write the to and from on the back of them.

You pull on the tag and the back opens up and the candy will fall out.

I got bored making them all the same, so I changed up the colors. I made 6 of each; some boy colors and some girl colors. Logan likes the red ones the best, I like the orange ones best.  

  So I was having some fun with these colors and decided to make some more stuff.

I made this card for Logan.

We are also going to make it in this weekends stamp camp, "Love Letters & Gifts".

I then made these Candy wrappers for the ladies coming to my camp this weekend.

The tags swing open to revel a secret message. 


And I finished up with these jars I made to give to Dan and Logan for Valentines. They both LOVE Gobstoppers.

Monday's Bloom #20

Good morning All -

I hope you had a great weekend. Yesterday was my anniversary. My husband and I got matching G2 Android phones for our 12th anniversary. : ) Isn't the 12th year the electronics year? Hee, hee. We are now in the 21st century with email and Internet on our phones, never thought that would happen...but I have to say it is awesome! 

Last week I worked on Logan's valentines. Here is what I came up with at first.

I have loved this stamp set for a long time now (Bugs and Kisses) and I was finally able to get it.

It is a great one for boys. 

I used Stampin' Ups heart shaped treat cups to hold the gobstoppers hearts.  

You can pull the tag and the back opens up so you can get to the candy.

My Favorite

Hi All -

I have to share some cards with you today I made with my favorite set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. The set is called "Nature Walk". I love the vintage look of the stamps.

 

The first card I made with this set was this birthday card.

Once again I had my grandmother in mind when making it. I wanted to see if I could make a pattern background that looked like the designer series pattern paper "Botanical Gazette".

I stamped the eggs on River Rock cardstock and used Stampin' Write markers to color them in.

The second card I made was this birthday wishes bird card. 

I stamped the birds graduating from Night of Navy, to Not Quite Navy, to Marina Mist. 

I had fun playing around with the ribbon. This is the Very Vanilla seam binding from Stampin' Up. I cut the ribbon to the size I needed, then wadded it into a ball. I rolled the ball around on the Not Quite Navy inkpad and then on the Soft Suede inkpad. then I flattened the ribbon out and heat set it with the Heat gun. After tying the ribbon off I snipped the ends of the ribbon and frayed the ends. I love the look of this.
